So every Friday, my wife and I have a private lunch at a nice restaurant and then spend the afternoon together. We learnt very quickly how to adapt to living simply, in a small space so these are our tips for living in a van.

Then, just to make your head spin a little more, they post the highlights of their lives all over social media. With the underlying idea that it will be beneficial, that it can have a positive influence in the daily lives of other people.

But once you are on the familiar path each day, the familiar sights, sounds and smells along the journey become stolen time for yourself.

I want to do this or some version of this every day for the rest of my life. You and I both know the answer. It's not just for your career, but also for what you expect from yourself outside of work. The notion that you can't lead a life that is equal parts thrilling, accomplishing and self-inspiring while having an office job is a myth. But, I encourage you to have designated time for your work, even if you have to schedule in a few hours during the weekend. It is great. Healthy, wholesome and good for you. And the scramble will only continue, unless we reshape the deeply ingrained patterns most of us follow when it comes to career and family. This post took me 4 hours to write. Even when we intentionally go on vacation, it ends up being a mixed trip. In fact at one point things got so bad that we were fighting constantly and took a break from our businesses to talk about it. My dad put it perfectly — a blog is like a newspaper.

What has really changed? Did we need the whole array of cooking pots, dishes, cutlery, books on gardening?

Full time lives

Of course, I began to start making money from my blog too, so that was also a sure sign that I could turn that money into a salary one day soon. I would say that overall, that this entire process spread out takes about 8 to 9 hours, or 13 hours with video, including video editing time. Up until last year, having kids was all about self sacrifice and it was starting to take its toll on our psyche. I do a lot of work outside of the website, that still have to do with the business. Full-Time Life Lovers also means that we have to accept the negative aspects of our daily lives and also to enjoy the positive ones to the fullest. I sit down to put together a blog post for a post due next week. You never get to refresh. Keeping your work at work, though, may be a tad bit more difficult. By finding somewhere ahead of time you limit the risks of a noisy lay by stopover or being moved on.

This also applies to things like coats and boots and other outdoor gear; chances are you are going to be spending a lot of time outside and that means mud and wet things — stuff that is most definitely best suited to outside the van.

Living the beach life in your twenties and witnessing brilliant sun-rises and sun-sets each day gives you tremendous perspective on what really matters to you in life.

Spread the love! I said it would be on a mountain by the beach. Every time things get out of hand, we now make a conscious effort to remember what we need out of life. Needless to say, you never know what will happen or greet your inbox when you wake up! We quickly realized that we were already making more money than we could spend and that we needed to re-visit our priorities. More than a concept, Full-Time Life Lovers is a philosophy towards life. So every Friday, my wife and I have a private lunch at a nice restaurant and then spend the afternoon together. Deeply connecting with what is around us helps learn about what really lies within us. But the constant pressure and FOMO on all the restaurants I am not eating at, all the places I am not checking into, and all the coffee shops I am not having coffee at, has surely reduced over time. But once you are on the familiar path each day, the familiar sights, sounds and smells along the journey become stolen time for yourself.
